The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position will be located in Carson City or Las Vegas, NV. The Education Programs Supervisor leads school improvement initiatives aimed at significantly improving student outcomes and transforming the Nevada education system. This position will be responsible for ensuring program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, grants management, budget oversight, usage of evidence based practices, data informed decision-making, effective usage of funds, and other relevant federal and state requirements for the following programs and initiatives: 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Turnaround and School Improvement, Gear Up, Native American Education, and College Readiness (e.g., Advanced Placement). The candidate will train, coach, supervise, and evaluate the performance of nine professional staff; collaborate with two Education Programs Supervisors, other NDE offices, the Achievement School District, and stakeholders to strengthen alignment; and collaborate and communicate regularly with partners on initiatives and policies.
The Department is interested in leaders with expertise in implementing effective school and district improvement strategies and those who can effectively navigate at the nexus of education practice, policy, and research. This includes having familiarity with ESSA requirements and education policy; being informed on the latest research and evidence based practices for system and school transformation; demonstrating leadership on issues of equity and excellence, particularly with regard to closing opportunity gaps; demonstrating the capacity to scale and replicate highly effective practices; leading change management initiatives to transition teams from compliance- to performance- based support; cultivating a team culture of high performance; building staff capacity; maintaining trusting and collaborative relationships with partners; and leveraging a strong network of partners and experts to further the department's goals.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and three years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Some positions require statewide travel.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
