The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
This position is located at the Carson City Department of Motor Vehicles in the MVIT Department. The Department is looking for a candidate who has Oracle database administration (DBA) experience on Linux Platform. The ideal candidate will have experience with Oracle DBA on Linux environment including functionality of RMAN, SQL Loader, Oracle Golden Gate, Data Pump, Data Guard and Infrastructure technologies such as ASM, Advanced security, Diagnostics and Tuning, and High Availability and Disaster Recovery Scenarios. The incumbent's primary responsibilities for this position will be securing database objects to include user/password management, encryption, and DB auditing, implement/migrate database changes, and develop database standards, guidelines, and best practices. The ideal candidate will also be a team player who will work with contractors, consultants and permanent employees. This position may require the applicant to rotate with other staff which involves carrying a standby cellular phone for evening and weekend system troubleshooting. The Department of Motor Vehicles is required to comply with 49 CFR 1572.103 which provides that an agency involved in the issuance of Real ID Driver's Licenses shall not knowing employ a person if they have been convicted of any of the felonies listed under this regulation, which includes Espionage, Sedition, Treason, Terrorism, Transportation Security Incident, Improper Transportation of a Hazardous Material, Unlawful Possession of Explosives, Murder, Making any Threat Concerning a Lethal Device, Racketeering. DMV also requires an online a pre-employment criminal history check.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
