The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
THIS RECRUITMENT WILL ONLY BE USED FOR APPLICANTS INTERERESTED IN WORKING IN BOULDER CITY, NEVADA.
This position is located in Boulder City. Incumbent will provide clerical support by maintaining appointments, consults, X-Ray and, lab orders; coordinate with the Safety Office to schedule transportation for necessary appointments; prepare the appointment packets for residents; enter weights into Electronic Medical Record (EMR); maintain resident records; scan necessary documents into EMR; perform quantitative and or qualitative audit of medical records; and maintain stock/inventory. The incumbent will communicate with staff, residents, families, visitors and providers, by ensuring pertinent information is available in order to ensure continuity of care and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures; report allegations or suspicion of resident abuse; maintain compliance with HIPAA laws and facility policy to protect confidential resident medical documentation; communicate with residents and their families, scheduling new and follow-up appointments; provide reminders; assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports and updating records; coordinate the day-to-day activities; arrange transportation; manage patient health information (PHI) and patient confidentiality; and manage payment processes between the insurance companies/Medicare/Medicaid and the medical/dental providers/vendors. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    This position may require working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position is located in Boulder City, NV.
    This position requires medical clerical experience as a ward clerk, physician's front office or unit secretary in a long term care facility.
