Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS). Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Successful candidates will possess strong crisis intervention techniques, the ability to document client progress, and assessing client needs and resources available; case management practices and procedures; knowledge of laws governing abuse and neglect of clients; treatment planning and implementation; and educating clients and their families on issues of daily living, coping skills and employment. Some of the services we provide include Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy, Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through mental health clinics located throughout the community. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
