Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located within the Maintenance and Asset Management Division in Carson City. Responsibilities include directing asset management programs to ensure compliance with State and federal laws; providing technical assistance and direction for the design, scope, schedule, and budget elements on projects; reviewing inter-local cooperative and consultant agreements and task orders; overseeing the development and implementation of the Asset Management Plan, to include evaluating the needs of the department and modifying procedures or methods to meet current standards, requirements, and department goals; managing the Maintenance Management System Program and the Maintenance Achievement Programs; overseeing the development of performance based maintenance budget decision making tools; representing the department at various project meetings and conferences; and assisting in budget development. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently. This position requires some travel statewide.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of continuing employment.
|

Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
