The Position
The Lands' Division is responsible for securing and disposing lands or interests in lands on behalf of other state agencies. The Division is also responsible for permitting structures on the navigable waters of the state and authorizing the occupancy and use of state lands. The agency also provides comments and coordinates the State's response to different land use proposals throughout the State. In addition, the Division is the lead for the interagency Nevada Tahoe Resource Team, which implements the Environmental Improvement Program for the State within the Lake Tahoe Basin; has membership on the Sagebrush Ecosystem Technical Team; and provides grants through the Conservation and Natural Resource program initiated by the State. The position assists with the development and administration of division policies and programs, represents, when necessary, the Administrator in department meetings and functions, interagency meetings and activities, conferring with the legislative branch, and interfacing with the public in general. The position may coordinate and assist with the oversight of fiscal matters and engage with audits of the agency as well as regulation development. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental or natural resources, public administration, real estate administration or related field and five years of increasingly responsible experience which included land management or natural resource management and budget administration, two years of which were supervising professional level staff; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The Examination
Application Evaluation Exam
The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
The following additional questions are part of this Recruitment
1) Do you have experience with the State of Nevada's executive budget process, Work Programs, and testifying before IFC/Legislature? If so, please describe.
2) What is your familiarity and experience with the NEPA process including reviewing and commenting on land use proposals?
3) The agency is engaged in a number of different natural resource programs often focused on policy implementation throughout the State. Please describe a program that you have been engaged with and your associated responsibilities.
4) All interview-related expenses are the responsibility of the applicant. There is no stipend available for moving expenses.
