The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services, Reno, NV. This position serves as the Reno program manager for the Nevada Early Intervention Program. Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS) was created to identify infants and toddlers (ages 0-3) who have known or suspected developmental delays or have chronic conditions/diseases requiring intervention.
The EI team provide services and support to families to meet the individualized developmental needs of the identified child and facilitate the child's learning and participation in family and community life through the partnerships of families, caregivers and service providers. Duties include but are not limited to: providing administrative direction and oversight of operations for the program in the specified region; involvement in statewide management teams and committees; managing a staff of professionals and para-professionals which include supervision of state and contracted provider staff; attendance at regional/statewide/national conferences and meetings; presenting program information as a means to develop and maintain collaborative relationships; creating and implementation of quality assurance and corrective improvement plans to be in compliance with state and federal laws (FERPA, HIPAA, IDEA part C); providing on-going training in a well-organized and thorough manner to maximize employees work performance and professional development; and functioning as a liaison with other public and private agencies/community stakeholders to provide education and information about the program and what it offers. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive environment. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science, special education or related field and five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, three years of which included budget preparation and control, program planning and evaluation, and interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the three years of experience, two years must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

    This position requires professional experience working with infants and toddlers with disabilities.
