The Position
Pharmacy Technicians process prescriptions and practitioners' orders; inspect drug storage areas; maintain inventory; and provide technical support services to professional pharmacists.
This full time position is located with Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks NV. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technicians read, double check accuracy and fill prescriptions which are then checked again by a Pharmacist before they are administered to the client. The position may participate in tracking the stock of medication and ensuring it is properly stored and may be required to refill and perform routine maintenance on automatic medication dispensing machines. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience as a licensed Pharmaceutical Technician in a pharmacy; OR one year as a Pharmacy Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    Licensure as a Pharmaceutical Technician issued by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
