Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is with the Department of Taxation, Excise Tax Division in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will be responsible for providing advice, input and problem solving strategies to the Executive Office on all matters dealing with the Excise Tax Division. The incumbent is also responsible for supervising subordinate supervisors in this division; preparing evaluations; work performance standards and hiring new staff as needed. The incumbent is also responsible for training and motivating division employees; identifying areas of non-compliance with regards to tax laws and recommending course of action. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, finance or related field and five years of professional level experience in accounting, auditing and/or tax administration programs involving interpretation and application of statutory provisions, including three years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
