Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position functions as the Contracts Manager for the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC), Purchasing Division. Under general direction, the Contracts Manager is responsible for providing guidance to NDOC facility and/or program staff for new services; facilitating competitive bids and solicitations for services needed by NDOC within budget guidelines; coordinating with State Purchasing on larger contracts and bids; creating and/or maintaining NDOC contract files; reviewing and recommending approval of modifications to contracts regarding technical or business concepts; inputting contract information into CETS; and ensuring NDOC complies with State contract requirements per NRS, NAC and SAM references.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Additional Position Criteria
Contract management experience including, but not limited to, drafting programmatic scopes of work and facilitating competitive bid solicitations.
