The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This recruitment is for one or more Grants & Projects Analyst 2 position(s) within the Department of Education, located in Carson City, NV. The selected applicant will be responsible for coordination and collaboration of grant oversight, accounting and reporting for complex programs. This position will develop partnerships, provide training and technical assistance to sub-grantees, conduct presentations, interpret regulations and requirements, prepare detailed reports and analyses and various other tasks related to the overall administration and management of state and federal grants. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring fiscal activities of subgrantees awarded federal and/or state funds to ensure all Students have the opportunities in life that stem from a quality education. This recruitment may be utilized to fill multiple positions within the Department of Education as the need arises.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which included writing grant applications to secure program funding; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, developing and implementing long-range grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; and monitoring and enforcing grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
Skills Required
    Microsoft Excel Intermediate-level skills required to include analyzing statistical information is required.
