The Position
Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Electrician II will be working under the direct supervision of the Facility Supervisor II and will institute a preventative maintenance schedule to prevent malfunctions and prolong the life of the equipment; establish the priority of repairs; diagnose problems; utilize the appropriate tools to test equipment; estimate job costs; make repairs; document the time and cost for billing purposes; troubleshoot, maintain and repair all electro/mechanical equipment; install, remove and reinstall wiring, computer cables, power panels, etc. in accordance with code requirements; calculate electrical load; and design new circuits based on the load. The position may provide lead work supervision including training, work direction and work review as needed.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for stand-by emergency status.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
