Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
The State of Nevada Sex Offender Registry has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant 3. Incumbent performs Second Party Verifications which includes a comparison of all information contained in a sex offender case file to the information recorded in the SORT system and verifying that both are complete and accurate. Incumbent also is responsible for perform NCIC validations of sex offender records of registration. This position is responsible for administrating Reconsideration Hearings. These hearings are held when a sex offender appeals the tier level they have been assessed for community notification. Hearings are held adhering to NRS 241 Open Meeting Law and NRS 233B Nevada Administrative Procedure Act.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
