The Position
Workforce Services Representatives provide a broad range of services in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act; assist job seeking customers and business customers seeking qualified applicants; and provide priority employment services to eligible veterans and disabled veterans as defined by the Department of Labor.
This position supervises staff working in the Winnemucca Job Connect office. The staff works with customers who are seeking assistance with training and labor exchange/employment services needed to return to gainful employment. This includes assisting Veteran customers with or without significant barriers to employment (SBE) and customers seeking co-funding or partnering for training and supportive services with our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded partners. This position will provide supervision and guidance to 3 staff members including training, performance reviews, approval or denial of leave time in order to make sure the office has sufficient coverage to provide all the necessary services to customers. This position will also assist with scheduling outreach and networking in the areas of Winnemucca, Battle Mountain, Lovelock and any other surrounding areas as needed. The Workforce Service Representative V will be part of the H2 Housing inspections, accompanied by another staff member for these inspections. This position will report to the Office Manager of the Fallon and Winnemucca office and must be willing to work independently with the guidance of the Office Manager in Fallon. The incumbent will be responsible for daily operations, auditing of staff files, registrations, referrals, CEP and other weekly or monthly reporting as needed. The successful incumbent will have strong communication and supervisory skills.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of relevant employment services experience which included one year of Employment Services program experience coordinating and monitoring employer/employment services and activities; mediating between parties or groups to resolve problems; providing leadership to motivate staff and customers to achieve goals, improve performance, or utilize program services; researching and analyzing various types of materials or situations to prepare reports or identify problems or alternative solutions and recommend corrective action; OR one year as a Workforce Services Representative IV in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a Workforce Services Representative III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Up to two years of experience may be substituted by completion of 60 semester credits in social or behavioral science, business administration, or related field for Workforce Services Representative IV and V.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.

The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
