The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services. This position will be located in Elko, NV. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive work environment. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. The position is responsible for monitoring all programmatic and some fiscal activities of sub-grantees awarded federal and/or state funds to provide services to people age 60 and older, their caregivers and a variety of other target populations in several Northeastern Nevada counties. Travel outside of the Elko area is frequent. The position assesses sub-grantees' program operations for compliance with regulations and provides technical assistance to ensure the proper provision of grant-funded services. The position also reviews and makes recommendations on grant applications submitted to ADSD, participates in meetings, develops partnerships, provides training to sub-grantees, conducts presentations, interprets regulations and requirements, prepares detailed reports and analyses, and various other tasks. This position will have a 25% travel requirement which will include work and travel in and around the rural areas of North-Eastern Nevada.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which included writing grant applications to secure program funding; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, developing and implementing long-range grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; and monitoring and enforcing grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service.
