Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This is a Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 position with the Department of Administration, Public Works Division, in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will assist with additional grounds maintenance duties, during the peak seasons of spring, summer and winter, in the Carson City and Reno areas. There is a driving requirement of up to 25%. The incumbent must be willing to work flexible/rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. The incumbent must also be willing and able to work with and supervise inmate workers.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Six months of experience as a general laborer that included the operation of tools and small equipment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
