Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is in our Carson City office at 555 Wright Way within the Information Technology Division. The division is comprised of four distinct work groups: Applications, Systems, Production Control and Networks.
This position is responsible for accurately documenting Helpdesk tickets, Software/Hardware installation, procedures and inventory control of equipment. The incumbent will provide customer support in a timely and professional manner to all customers 24/7. Duties include the timely completion of tasks, including the planning and communication with all entities involved. The position requires a general knowledge of all aspects of dealing with LAN technology and demonstrable technical abilities with Windows 7 and 10 operating systems. Duties also included maintaining switches and wiring; and working in all areas of system security in accordance to written procedures.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of experience as an IT Technician V in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience with Windows 7 and 10 is required.
Experience with Office 2013 is required.
Experience with backups is required.
Experience with antivirus software is required.
