Developmental Specialists provide individual and group clinical, developmental and support services for individuals of all ages who have, or who may be at risk for, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions, and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Developmental Specialist III located in the Las Vegas, Nevada area for the Wraparound in Nevada Program. Developmental Specialist IIIs are supervisors over the Wraparound in Nevada Psychiatric Case Management Program and its staff. They provide necessary supervision in order to ensure the delivery of high fidelity wraparound to the families/clients we serve as well as to ensure staff accomplish their work performance standards and function within all state policies and procedures. They oversee Psychiatric Case Manager activities to include: the assessment of the targeted case management needs, development of care plans, the monitoring of treatment progress and referrals/linkages to community resources. Wraparound in Nevada serves the mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients ages 6 to 18 and their families. Developmental Specialist IIIs provide supervision to the wraparound model and may be involved in training the model to community providers and newly hired staff. The positions within the DCFS Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) Program provide intensive supervision within the statewide Children's Behavioral Health system utilizing the Wraparound Model with the mission to provide the highest fidelity of wraparound possible.
This is a full time position that includes a variable work agreement with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours per week. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, special education, human growth and development, psychology, counseling, social work or a closely related field and two years of professional experience providing developmental, special education, intervention or treatment-oriented services for individuals who have or may be at risk for developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions; OR one year of experience as a Developmental Specialist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education at or above a bachelor's degree and experience as described above. |
