JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position is with the Department of Health and Human Services in the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) and is located at the Las Vegas District Office. This position requires less than fifty percent of time traveling within the Las Vegas District Office catchment area.
Health Care Coordinators (HCC's) evaluate individuals referred to the medical services program and provide ongoing case management services to Medicaid eligible clients; evaluate the need for medical services, treatment, equipment and supplies and authorize payment; screen individuals to determine appropriate level of care in nursing homes; and review programs and participate in program development.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment.

Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Professional licensure or certification as a social worker, nurse or in a medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada at the time of appointment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty as a condition of continuing employment.
Travel up to 50% of the time is required.
