The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
This position is the Information Security Officer (ISO) for the Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) and manages the Cyber Security unit within the Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT) located in Carson City, NV. Analyze and interpret program laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistent with industry, state, and federal best practice standards. Analyzes, develops, and maintains organizational and administrative program policies and procedures. Develop, review, and test disaster recovery plans and documentation. Develop, review, and maintain policy/procedural documentation and document integrity. Develop and/or assist in the development of Information Security and Cyber Security related training materials, to include staff training using various forms of delivery. Must have the ability to work effectively on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines and work well with frequent interruptions and must have exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Nevada Information Security Professional (NISP) or CISSP certification must be obtained within 12 months of appointment and maintained as a condition of continuing employment.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required.
