Landscape Architects perform professional landscape architecture involving the design, planning and coordination of capital improvement projects and major renovations.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

This position is located in Carson City within the Landscape Architecture Section of the Roadway Design Section. Incumbent will perform professional landscape architecture for highway construction and capital improvement projects; designs, plans, and coordinates landscaping and landscape architecture to include contract administration, cost estimation, inspection, and compliance to laws, regulations, and specifications. In addition, incumbent will coordinate with other public and private agencies; and have involvement in the coordination of consultants, including the solicitation, selection, and negotiation for scope of work, time frames, and cost.**THIS POSITION MAY BE USED TO UNDERFILL FOR A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.**Incumbent may progress to the next level after meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the approval of the appointing authority.
