Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is with State Public Works Division, Leasing Section, in Carson City, NV. A Program Officer II in the Leasing Services Section conducts complex lease transactions including legal documents. A high degree of accuracy is required in this position as the final product will be approved by the Division Administrator, Deputy Attorney General (DAG), and the Board of Examiners. The position requires experience with commercial leasing, as well as an advanced level of Access Database experience. Database experience requires the ability to research, compile, analyze and manipulate data for preparation of numerous reports to be presented to management. The position is responsible for supervisory tasks relative to oversite of administrative staff in the section. This is a challenging position requiring the ability to provide the utmost customer service to both State internal, and private external stakeholders. Communication of the utmost professional level is required to effectively collaborate with multiple parties. The ability to interpret pertinent law and regulations and apply to each case is imperative. This position has a travel requirement of up to 25%.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field and one year of previous experience in planning, coordinating or administering a program; OR one year experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and five years of previous experience in planning, coordinating or administering a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience with commercial leasing is required.

The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
