|
Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The ASO 2 position is located in the Fiscal Services Section of the Department of Business and Industry, Director's Office, in Carson City, and performs all of the tasks consistent with the classification series in managing the accounting, budgeting, review and analysis for multiple and diverse program budgets for the larger agencies of the Department. The position is responsible for the overall budget preparation for complex Department of Business and Industry agencies, and for providing administrative advice and support on the most critical programs and activities to the Department Director and Division Administrators. The position is tasked with the most critical functions of the Director's Office including implementing, maintaining, monitoring and reporting results of financial operations as well as grants management, contract administration, forecasting, performance measurement, internal audits and operations reviews. Responsibilities also include the management and oversight of the Fiscal Processing Unit.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and four years of varied and professional experience which included budget development and analysis; responsibility for accounting or fiscal management; development, management and evaluation of a large and complex program; and/or management of two or more business operations such as contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, buildings and grounds maintenance, food and laundry services, data processing, facilities maintenance and construction, communications equipment, or fleet maintenance; one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis. |

Experience in financial administration, accounting and reporting associated with federal grant reconciliations, calculating direct costs, and other revenue sources including assessments, fees, and Highway and General funds is required. |
