JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Seasonal, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation
of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
Position will capture and band waterfowl using clover-leaf traps and rocket nets. Capture efforts are focused on Mallards, Northern Pintails, Cinnamon teal, Redheads, and Wood Ducks during preseason banding. Incumbent will be responsible for baiting sites, reading auxiliary markers, building and maintaining traps, banding, data collection, data entry, and daily communication with supervisor. Position will have access to a Departmental vehicle for performance job duties.
This position requires to work from July 1st until the last day of September.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of experience assisting in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects; OR completion of 15 college credits in wildlife management, biology, or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid I in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.
