The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Position will capture and band waterfowl using clover-leaf traps and rocket nets. Capture efforts are focused on Mallards, Northern Pintails, Cinnamon teal, Redheads, and Wood Ducks during preseason banding. Incumbent will be responsible for baiting sites, reading auxiliary markers, building and maintaining traps, banding, data collection, data entry, and daily communication with supervisor. Position will have access to a Departmental vehicle for performance job duties. This position requires to work from July 1st until the last day of September.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
    Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
