Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking a Social Services Program Specialist II (SSPSII) to be located in our Carson office under direction of a Social Services Program Specialist III, this position participates as part of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children central office unit, and as a point of contact and liaison for all state and local child welfare agencies. This position will need to demonstrate the ability to interpret federal and state laws related to the Interstate Compact, and child welfare programs such as foster care and adoption. This position serves as an ICPC liaison between Nevada and all other states; providing both programmatic and technical assistance on placement issues including home studies, education, medical, foster care maintenance payments and financial assistance eligibility. This position will assist in the facilitation of meetings between other State ICPC office, caseworkers and legal staff as requested.

This position is full-time with a regular work schedule that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week.
