The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties such as maintaining records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; and budget monitoring.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 for our Caliente Youth Center (CYC). The position performs general office duties which include answering telephone and inquiries about services provided by DCFS/ Caliente Youth Center; data entry; provides high quality customer service; provides administrative support to all department staff; maintains confidentiality and privacy of client information. Will prepare weekly deposits/receipts for incoming youth funds.
This is a full-time position with an anticipated work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.

Qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
