Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE).
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This is an Administrative Assistant 3 position with the Department of Business and Industry, Housing Division, in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will answer phones, greet visitors, receive and log mail deliveries, take minutes, and manage conference room calendars and bookings. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for front desk operations, management of office supply inventory and procurement, various website support functions, providing assistance to the Division Administrator, and providing assistance with accounts payable and receivable. The incumbent may serve on the Safety Committee, and act as the Records Retention Coordinator. There is a travel requirement of up to 25%.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position has a 25% Travel Requirement.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Fluent in Spanish and English.
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
