Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.
This position is located in Carson City within our DMV Administrative Services Division. The incumbent is responsible for auditing and reconciling payments from the collection agency and the branches, preparing quarterly reconciliations, and assisting with customer service for the DMV's Bad Debt Section; preparing and verifying daily deposits and maintaining the security of funds for the Revenue office; and assisting in preparation of reports and maintaining spreadsheets for the Revenue section of DMV. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience which included duties such as responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and/or other accounting data; setting up computer spreadsheets to record, track, manipulate and report data; researching and interpreting financial data to prepare reports and respond to budget and accounts related inquiries; and reconciling accounts; OR one year as an Accounting Assistant II in Nevada State service which included clerical accounting duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
