The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position works within the Nevada Department of Education, Office of Early Learning and Development, located Las Vegas, NV. The position of the Head Start State Collaboration Director is a requirement of the Federal Head Start Collaboration Office grant. Duties required as outlined in the Head Start Act (dated Dec 2007). The incumbent will assist Head Start agencies to collaborate with entities involved in State and local planning processes to better meet the needs of low-income children from birth to school entry, and their families. The position will participate on statewide committees and boards that support the early childhood community.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an area of specialization relevant to the agency to which assigned and two years of professional experience which included responsibilities for researching, writing, instructing, and presenting informational and educational material; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
This position requests a current Nevada Driver's License.
Additional Position Criteria
This position requires professional experience in early childhood education, child care, family support services and/or human growth and development specific to children birth to age 5.
