Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is for the State Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), under the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) in Policy Development and Program Management (PDPM), Pharmacy Services, located in Carson City, NV. There is estimated travel at 25%. The ability to use Microsoft and Outlook is required. The incumbent will be monitoring DHCFP's lock-in-program, auditing dispensing practitioners, coordinating with behavioral health on treatment and pharmaceutical services, and participating in the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and Drug Use Review Board quarterly meetings. The incumbent will be required to work with contracted staff, providers, other state agencies, and stakeholders to educate and outreach on policies and procedures.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs services or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR one year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
