Employee Development Managers and Training Officers analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, manage and coordinate training and development for a department, division or a geographic region of a department's statewide training function and supervise and/or conduct sessions for vocation and/or skills training in specific occupational areas and general management development.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is with the Division of Human Resource Management (DHRM) in the Office of Employee Development (OED) and will be located in Carson City or Las Vegas, Nevada depending upon the selected applicant. Under the general supervision of the Employee Development Manager, the incumbent will develop; revise; update training curricula for the State's Certified Public Manager Program (NVCPM) and other leadership/management programs in consultation with subject matter experts and colleagues. Specific curriculum development tasks include: drafting course outlines, establishing learning/performance objectives, writing instructor guides, designing student learning activities and other student materials, as well as creating slide decks and other visual aids to support the delivery of the instruction. The incumbent will also serve as an instructor for the Nevada Certified Public Manager Program,(NVCPM) and other courses sponsored by OED. Specific instructional duties may include: scheduling courses, managing student registration and communications, teaching courses, and contributing to course revisions based on student and instructor evaluations. This recruitment eligible list may be used to fill future vacancies.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a related field and four years of experience in the adult training process which included experience in planning, programming, coordinating and conducting adult training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The position has a 25% travel requirement. |
