JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Maintenance Repair Specialist II performs a variety of general maintenance building repairs and projects. This will include dry wall repairs, ceiling and floor repairs, interior and exterior painting, concrete from layout and pouring. Duties also include, door repairs and installation, window and glass replacement, small tenant improvement projects, and all other duties as assigned. This position oversees the welding and automotive shops, and has direct supervisory responsibility for inmate crews in several maintenance shops.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades and one year of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR one year of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
