The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is currently recruiting for a Fiscal Business Professional Trainee, underfilling for a Management Analyst 1 position, to join the Budget and Statistics Unit in the Carson City Central Office. This is a tremendous opportunity to work as part of a cohesive team, where all members deal with time sensitive materials, deadline driven projects, and provide support for all unit functions.
The position is focused on budget monitoring and development, including involvement in the biennial budgeting process. The position is also responsible for research into program participant data; required Federal reporting; providing support for sub-grant awards; facilitating various aspects of the procurement process; as well as expenditure tracking and monthly budget to actual reporting.The incumbent may auto-progress to a Management Analyst 1 upon meeting the minimum requirements of the class, passing the written exam, demonstrating satisfactory work performance, and upon their supervisor's recommendation to the Personnel Officer 3.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance or similar discipline directly related to fiscal or business management; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.
Special Notes
Incumbents may progress to the entry level in the professional series upon meeting the minimum qualifications and with the approval of the appointing authority.
Appointments to positions in this class require successful completion of a written examination.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
