JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform duties below the journey level while receiving training for
advancement to an entry-level professional health/human services class.

The incumbent in this position will be in a trainee position under the direct supervision of the Associate Warden of Programing developing or revising athletic/recreational activities due to cultural diversity and physical limitations of inmates, equipment and athletic facilities available; provide a broad range of athletic and recreational programs including, sports, hobby/crafts, social groups and academic and self-help education. They will recruit and schedule inmates, prepare rosters, provide instruction and explain rules, obtain and set up equipment, develop special programs for individual inmates and observe established safety and security and security measures. After meeting the required employment history in the Trainee position the person would progress to the Athletic & Recreation Specialist I.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree).
Special Notes
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Applicants who possess a Bachelor's degree in a discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained will not be required to take the written examination for Health/Human Services Professional Trainee.
Applicants must have a current Driver's License.
Special Requirements
Some series may strictly require at least a bachelor's degree to qualify. Only applicants who possess a bachelor's or higher degree may be considered qualified for this class.
A pre-employment criminal background and fingerprint check is required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
The Examination
Health/Human Services Professional Trainee
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
Qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.

Applicants will be given 3 hours to complete the exam.
