The Position
Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment. 
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This is a position at the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, an Agency of the Division of Museums and History in the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. The museum was opened in late 2011 and is a 70,000 square-foot state of the art museum with extensive electronic, HVAC, and computerized building systems. The primary duties of the Maintenance Repair Worker IV (MRW IV) position at this museum entails extensive mechanical and electrical knowledge, and the physical ability to perform maintenance repairs to a wide range of static and mechanical systems, including but not limited to; electrical, electronic trouble shooting, plumbing, HVAC, metal framing, drywall, painting, and standard hardware and door hardware repair, and/or installation of all of the above. Additionally the MRW IV must be able to be certified for safe operation of manlifts and forklifts, and possibly fall protection. The MRW IV must also be physically able and comfortable working at heights up to 35 feet, and be physically able to climb vertical roof ladders, (ships ladders) on a regular basis and work in all types of weather conditions. The MRW IV will also assist other staff on an as needed basis. A well-qualified candidate will also have knowledge and experience with locks, keying cores, and lock/key code machines.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Three years of experience performing higher level semi-skilled work in a relevant building and/or mechanical trades such as troubleshooting a wide variety of lighting fixtures and problems; framing and sheetrocking walls to create new office spaces and installing door jambs, windows, and necessary wiring; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid Class C Nevada driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
