The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Administrative Services Division in Carson City. Under direction of the Assistant Division Chief, incumbent prepares financial, statistical, and narrative reports including monthly Transportation Board reports; plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements revised operating procedures/methods for Administrative Services Division sections (Agreements, Contracts, Buildings & Grounds, Records Management, and Over Dimensional Vehicle Permits); coordinates the development of new forms, work methods, and automated systems used to process information; reviews, writes, revises, and recommends administrative policies; ensures desk procedures are documented and updated regularly; recommends, designs, and implements software solutions and upgrades; works with software vendors, department staff, and outside consultants to define and document business requirements; and procures software via RFP, tests system functionality, and implements required solutions. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Appointment to any level in this series requires successful completion of a written examination.
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
