The Position
Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Under the direct clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist, incumbents perform the duties described in the series concept in a trainee capacity. Incumbents may be automatically progressed to Licensed Psychologist I upon receipt of licensure as a psychologist in the State of Nevada.
This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Rural Regional Center, and will be located in Carson City, NV. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive work environment. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. This is an under-fill for a Licensed Psychologist I position. The incumbent will be auto-progressed upon meeting the minimum qualifications of the position and with Appointing Authority approval. The primary focus of this position is determination of Developmental Services eligibility. Additional duties include: performing psychological evaluations and providing written reports of findings; providing psychological and behavioral consultations to families and professional caregivers; and providing individual, family and group treatment or psycho-educational programs to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities who have co-occurring emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric problems. Participation in quality assurance activities are required. Selected applicants must be registered as a Registered Psychological Assistant by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners within 90 days of appointment into the position.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An active doctoral psychology internship agreement and/or a certificate of successful completion of a doctoral psychology internship program is required at the time of application.
Special Notes
    Applicants for the Psychological Assistant must attach either their active doctoral psychology internship agreement, certificate of successful completion of their doctoral psychology internship program, or verification of their Doctorate in Psychology degree to their application in order to be considered eligible.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid Nevada driver's license or equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
