Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Administrative Officer II, this position will be responsible for the oversight and facilitation of the Nevada Highway Patrol's statewide grants. The job duties include assisting sworn staff with the application and submittal of grant applications; develop and maintain grant budgets and reconciliation spreadsheets; review and approve all grant related purchases to ensure purchase request is within the grant authority; prepare and submit project claim invoices; reconcile and process monthly grant reports and requests for reimbursements; monitor revenue and expenditures of the division's grants to ensure compliance with grant budgets and authorized spending limitations; and prepare work programs as needed to address financial issues related to grants.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

Appointment to any level in this series requires successful completion of a written examination.
Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
