JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Fiscal/Business Professional Trainee will perform in a trainee capacity to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required to meet the minimum qualifications of the Management Analyst series.
Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Administrative Officer II, this position will be responsible for the oversight and facilitation of the Nevada Highway Patrol's statewide grants. The job duties include assisting sworn staff with the application and submittal of grant applications, developing and maintaining grant budgets and reconciliation spreadsheets, reviewing and approving all grant related purchases to ensure purchase request is within the grant authority, preparing and submitting project claim invoices, reconciling and processing monthly grant reports and requests for reimbursements, monitoring revenue and expenditures of the division's grants to ensure compliance with grant budgets and authorized spending limitations; and preparing work programs as needed to address financial issues related to grants.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance or similar discipline directly related to fiscal or business management; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.

Incumbents may progress to the entry level in the professional series upon meeting the minimum qualifications and with the approval of the appointing authority.
Appointments to positions in this class require successful completion of a written examination.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
