The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES DIVISION positions assigned to the Community Based Care Program (CBC) ensure a coordinated support system to meet the needs of at risk elderly and disabled persons by providing case management and essential services to recipients of CBC programs statewide to facilitate community integration and avoid institutionalization. Responsibilities include case management, assessment, eligibility determination, development, implementation and oversight of the plan of care, home visits and documentation utilizing a web based case management software system. Positions assigned to the Elder Protective Services Program conduct investigations, and provide prevention and mediation of abuse, neglect, isolation, exploitation and abandonment of persons age 60 and older. Responsibilities also include conducting home visits, documenting case activities, preparing reports, collaboration with law enforcement and other entities, providing technical information and educational services.
DIVISION OF WELFARE AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES positions provide case management to participants receiving Temporary Assistance To Needy families (TANF). Works with participants with domestic violence, drug/alcohol, mental health issues, pregnant and parenting teens, crisis intervention, completes various assessments, develops self sufficiency plans, conducts home visits, refers participants to community services, motivates and facilitates participant towards employment and monitors participant's progress. Case management is defined as the process by which an individual's needs are identified and the social , rehabilitative and medical services are located, coordinated, monitored and designed to meet those eeds. .................................................. DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY \SERVICES positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families and community contacts to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs. Provides ongoing case management services by developing and implementing plans of care; including home visits; monitoring services; report preparation and record keeping; providing technical information and educational services.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.
    The Division of Child and Family Services requires this position to be subject to on-call.
