JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located with Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks NV. Designated shift is Monday through Friday but incumbents may require sharing the responsibility in covering weekends and holidays.
Incumbents require a working knowledge of theories and principles of individual and group psychotherapy; symptoms, characteristics and treatment of mental illness, substance abuse, emotional and behavioral disorders; crisis intervention techniques; case management practices and procedures; psycho-diagnostic techniques; laws governing abuse and neglect. Incumbents must have the ability to assess, develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals; write comprehensive evaluations, reports and recommendations; conduct risk assessments, and demonstrate competency within the civil court process. Incumbents will actively participate on an interdisciplinary treatment team; coordinate community services for consumers while assuming the ultimate responsibility of discharge planning. Incumbents will demonstrate strong writing skills, be an effective communicator, exercise the highest of ethical standards, practice effective time management, and demonstrate multi-tasking capability and flexibility. With emphasis on the recovery model, patient care is delivered through an interdisciplinary team approach with teamwork being a must.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
