Positions manage the inmate work program at one or more correctional facilities and are responsible for budget maintenance, project planning, community relations, resource management, security planning, and supervision of assigned personnel.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position will work as the community liaison in outreach and solicitation of camp projects and will be responsible for developing marketing plans and developing relationships with stakeholders. Experience in public relations and preparing presentation is desirable. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Associate's degree in forestry, natural resource management, business
administration or related field and three years of experience which included conservation and natural resource management activities, fire suppression, and supervision of staff; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of experience as a Crew Supervisor III which included supervision of employees and financial management and recordkeeping; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a yearfor-year basis; OR two years of experience as a Conservation Camp Supervisor in Nevada State service
Special Notes
Education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis at the Conservation Camp Area Supervisor level.
Special Requirements
A valid commercial driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

CONSERVATION CAMP AREA SUPERVISOR (01.868) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.
