Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
This is a Personnel Technician 2 position with the Department of Administration within the Central Records Division. The incumbent will establish and maintain all employee service jackets and I-9's in compliance with statutes, regulations and policy/procedures-indexing all documents submitted by agencies in the Application Extender software program. Additionally the incumbent will audit and approve agency submitted documents/transactions processed in ADV-HR, respond to agency inquires by providing guidance and advice in processing personnel transactions which includes researching applicable laws, regulations and policies, and must have customer service skills and be able to make reasonable decisions in a timely manner along with constantly be aware of Confidentiality Rules, Policies and Procedures.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
The applicant needs to have a working knowledge of the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) and experience working in ADVANTAGE-HR, NEATS and Application Extender.
