Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
This position is part of the Disability Services Unit, in the Carson City office. As part of the Disability Services Unit, this position provides support to the Independent Living, Assistive Technology programs and staff members. In addition to maintaining records and files, developing and distributing materials to two advisory boards, in accordance with the open meeting law, the incumbent maintains the ADSD boards and commissions records and data base. The position provides support for the Statewide Independent Living Council and the Assistive Technology Collaborative; ISO Certification program; SAMS data system support to grantees; Quality Assurance monitoring; and the internal processing of grants.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |
|
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
|
Taking and transcribing meeting minutes is a requirement of this position. |
|
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
