Positions allocated to this series perform complex mathematical and statistical analysis on public health databases by applying statistical theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships.
This position is within Division of Public and Behavioral Health Office of Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology (OPHIE). This position may be located in either Reno or Carson City depending on the needs of the agency. The purpose of this position is to analyze mental health and treatment data. This includes compiling, analyzing and reporting on mental health and treatment statistical data in Nevada by recognizing trends, shifts, and distribution of information. This position maintains data quality and control and completes all requests for mental health and treatment data form internal and external partners within specified timeframes. This position requires the use of statistical methods and programs utilizing SAS.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, mathematics or closely related field and one year of professional experience conducting statistical analysis by gathering data from various sources using computer software; OR one year of experience as a Biostatistician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
