Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing inmates various re-entry programs designed to develop necessary re-entry life skills for reintegration into society. The incumbent will be required to perform functions related to "transitional programs," i.e., resume writing, preparing for interviews, dress for success, etc., work with local employers to develop job partnerships; equip inmates with skill sets that allow them to compete and have success with community reintegration; and teach adult life skills or job readiness.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and four years of previous experience either performing or assisting in the planning, coordinating or administering of a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience in re-entry programs (i.e., workforce development, transition assistance, job skills assessment/evaluation, education, etc.) is required.
