The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for Mental Health Counselor I that will be located at the Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC) located in Elko, NV, a 60-bed staff secure facility for male youth age 12 to 18 located in Elko, NV. NYTC goal is to promote positive self-growth, create change in behavior, attitudes, values and ways of thinking through education, therapeutic treatment and appropriate medical and mental health services. Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting. Provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, and behavioral and human services to youth. Incumbents reviews youth charts, completes assessments, prepares treatment plans, discusses youth treatment at case staffing, makes case presentations, makes individual and standardized assessments, integrates and analyzes information from all available sources, and documents quality of care and ensures information is available to other members of the treatment team by completing required forms and reports and maintaining documentation to ensure compliance with established laws, regulations, policies and requirements of the agency.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above. |

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |
