Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Rural Clinics is looking for a Psychiatric Nurse II. This position is located in our outpatient behavioral health center in Ely, NV. Rural Clinics is comprised of 16 outpatient behavioral health clinics located throughout rural Nevada. We provide a continuum rehabilitative services (e.g., targeted case management, basic skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation, therapy, testing, jail diversion, and children's programs, crisis intervention) to both children and adults. Some of the valuable services we provide include Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Residential Support and Consumer Advocacy. This position provides direct psychiatric nursing services for clients, including assessments and therapeutic interventions; organizes and oversees medication clinic and services for Center clients; providing consultation and education to clients, the community and other service providers. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada and two years of professional nursing experience, one of which included working in a facility or institution with individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Nurse I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
