Master Information Technology (IT) Professionals provide the highest level of professional IT expertise in an agency in one or more functional areas such as information systems project management, quality assurance, database administration, network administration, systems administration, applications analysis and development, or information security.

This position is located in Carson City, Enterprise Solutions Architect in the Information Technology Division of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT). Incumbent will analyze the information technology environment and infrastructure to ensure the division adheres to current architectural standards and delivers highly available, accessible, and easy to use systems for a large diverse user base; and provides strategic direction, guidance, standards, documentation, and design principles for implementation of all technology solutions across the department. Incumbent will use a variety of models and architectural frameworks to identify key relationships and gaps between business objectives, processes and IT systems, and provide visionary guidance for applications and infrastructure project solutions. In addition, the incumbent will act as Innovation Strategist driving the department's technology evolution by conducting extensive research on current and emerging technologies and delivering roadmaps to enhance operational efficiencies; advise senior technology management on innovative solutions to meet various business demands; and conduct routine audits within the information technology domain. Up to 25% travel is required for this position.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and six years of progressively responsible professional IT experience, three years of which were at the advanced journey level in a pertinent specialty area such as information systems project management, quality assurance, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, or information security; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

The position requires expert level certification in one of the following areas: Security, Network, Systems, or Database. |
